Literary bulletin:   LONDON (Reuters) - The prize for oddest book title of 2008 was awarded to "The 2009-2014 World Outlook for 60-milligram Containers of Fromage Frais," thanks to a late surge in popularity, The Bookseller magazine said Friday.  Philip M. Parker's "Fromage Frais," which literally means "fresh cheese" in French, beat out titles such as "Baboon Metaphysiscs," "Curbside Consultation of the Colon," and "Strip and Knit with Style" in the annual competition run by the British magazine.

I know this news will be cause for you to celebrate.  Many of our readers were no doubt rooting for the winner.

Major criminals loose!  SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- The quest for squeaky-clean dishes has turned some law-abiding people in Spokane into dishwater-detergent smugglers. They are bringing Cascade or Electrasol in from out of state because the eco-friendly varieties required under Washington state law don't work as well.

It may require action through the UN to stop these lawbreakers!

Important science news, just in from Britain's Telegraph:   The time needed for a man to fall in love at first sight is 8.2 seconds, scientists claim.  The longer a man's gaze rests on a woman when they meet for the first time, the more interested he is.  If it last just four seconds, he may not be all that impressed. But if it breaks the 8.2 second barrier, he could already be in love they say.

I thought you'd like to know this.
